Clare Gerada is a London-based GP and in 2010 became the first female Chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 50 years.
Clare qualified at UCL Medical School in 1982 and then trained in psychiatry, working at the Maudsley Hospital on substance abuse. She started work in general practice in South London in 1992, where she has stayed ever since.
Clare was awarded an MBE in 2000 "for service to medicine and to drug misusers". She has also been Director of Primary Care for the National Clinical Governance Team, Senior Medical Advisor to the Department of Health, Director of RCGP Substance Misuse Unit and Chair of Clinical Board, Primary Care Transformation, NHS England. She is Medical Director of the NHS Practitioner Health Programme (www.php.nhs.uk), which is a pioneering programme providing confidential services to doctors and dentists with mental health or addiction problems.

Ahmed Kazmi is a GP and Specialty Doctor in Dermatology based in London and Perth, Australia. In addition to his clinical work he is always looking to spread positive empowering information about health and wellbeing. He loves to get his message across in exciting ways, be it a radio interview, a YouTube tutorial, a written article, a talk at a conference or a stand-up comedy show! Ahmed's experience as a doctor and passion for medicine mean he is bursting with health and wellbeing tips, and loves to share these whenever he can.
Ahmed appears regularly on mainstream media to discuss issues as diverse as diet, medical research, paper reviews, Grenfell Tower and squat toilets. For fun he likes to perform stand-up comedy and cabaret…but can’t help but make those a little bit medical too! His show 'Doctor in the House' has sold out many festivals including Edinburgh Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Ahmed often uses his comedy performances as opportunities to raise awareness about serious issues and to raise money for charity.

Dr Nigel Watson is Managing Partner in a large practice in the New Forest and has been a GP for 30 years. He was previously Chair of the New Forest MCP and joint CEO of Hampshire MCP covering a population of close to 1,000,000.
Nigel is Chief Executive of Wessex LMCs representing 3000 GPs working in 500 practices in Bath and NE Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Swindon and Wiltshire.
He is the Hampshire and Isle of White representative on the BMA’s General Practitioner Committee, a member of the Board of Health Education Wessex LMCs, the Board of the Wessex Clinical Senate and the National Advisory Committee of the Voluntary MCP Contract.
Nigel was appointed chair of the independent review into the GP partnership model in early 2018 by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. The review considered the partnership model and made recommendations on how to revitalise the model and ensure it is fit for purpose for the future.
Nigel was awarded an MBE in June 2018 for services to general practice in Wessex.

Dr Ian Davis is a GP in rural Gloucestershire who in 2005 became the official doctor for a race to the Magnetic North Pole after a chance encounter with a patient. Despite the very real risks, discomfort and extreme cold, Ian became hooked and returned on an annual basis. He formed a company - Polar Challenge - that ran a competitive 350-mile race in the Arctic each April and worked for a year on the Top Gear North Pole Special. He followed this with a Race to the South Pole, the first such race since Scott and Amundsen competed to win the pole for their respective countries with such tragic results.

Dr Nikita Kanani is a GP in south-east London and Director of Primary Care for NHSE England and NHS Improvement. Prior to this she was the Chief Clinical Officer of NHS Bexley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
Nikki has held a range of positions within healthcare to support the development of innovative models of care, highly engaged clinical, patient and public leadership and is passionate about improving service provision, access and population wellbeing.
She is a member of The King's Fund General Advisory Council, co-Chair of the London Prevention Partnership Board, and holds a MSc in health care commissioning. With her sister she co-founded STEMMsisters, a social enterprise supporting young people to study science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine. She was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2017.

David Griffiths is a portfolio GP working in a salaried role in a 17k patient practice in Oxford and as a specialist in improving the quality and safety of healthcare systems. David is the Clinical Lead for the Time for Care Programme, which, since 2016, has helped General Practices embrace Quality Improvement skills to free up GP time and provide better services for their patients. Initially focused on implementation of the 10 High Impact Actions, the Time for Care team is now working with Primary Care Networks across the country through bespoke improvement support programmes. The programme also includes Productive General Practice (PGP) Quickstart, a series of facilitated in-house QI modules.
David was, for four years, a Programme Director for the GP Training scheme in Oxford and worked as an advisor to NHS London’s primary care transformation team, focusing on GP innovations. Prior to that, he advised Commissioning Support for London (CSL) on clinical engagement, particularly with respect to the polyclinics programme, part of the Healthcare for London strategic plan.
David has facilitated workshops throughout England looking at quality and safety in General Practice. He is passionate about training and empowering people to improve their own lives, a passion which spills over into coaching under-10s girls football (a challenging audience). David is also Medical Director at Consultant Connect a company helping GPs receive rapid advice and guidance from hospital consultants in order to improve the quality and timeliness of patient care.
